Peter:NZ0 Tazmania in May 2025 has to be the highlight of my 20 years of mountain biking. To ride all day mostly downhill on awesome and changing flowing trails was unbelievable. Great organisation, scenery, e-bikes, food, accommodation and company. The ultimate in single track riding.

This mountainbiking trip was beyond spectacular for its riding - huge variety on world class trails with accommodation and food always rewarding and appropriate (pub meals for lunch, gorgeous meals at Blue Derby Pods for dinner) Hire bikes as good as any available, organisation inpeccable. Would go again in a heartbeat.
It's not a guided tour...
This adventure will appeal to proficient mountain bikers, comfortable with riding on advanced skill level trails.
The tour will be accompanied by Gaz Sullivan, a well-travelled and very experienced bike rider, and he has a ride menu planned out for himself that he can't wait to attack. He is hoping you will come along on those rides, but if you would rather do some other ride, that is totally fine. There are trails from simple to hair-raising, and you are welcome to join the group rides or do your own thing - that is the beauty of this expedition.

What do I need to bring?
Your riding kit. That will include helmet, gloves, shoes, check twice. Pedals! Also check twice. Can get cold, and also wet. Like Rotorua, riding in the wet is actually not too bad but it's a good idea to have a couple of baselayers and a rain jacket.

Where are we hanging out?
At the seaside town of St Helens we are staying at the Panorama Hotel, right on the waterfront. The town has everything we could want - shops, bike stores, pubs, awesome fish & chips, and mountain biking!
At Derby we are staying at the award-winning Pods - amazing eco chalets deep in the forest, literally IN the trail system! It is only a short ride to 'town' - there isn't much to Derby besides bike shops and trails, there are some cool little cafes and watering holes.
